People often think that they’re getting a great deal when they buy something. They end up buying inferior quality or paying more for items that they could find for less if they did their research.

Aldi strives to be the best grocery store in the world, and does so for most people.

Side note: Although this article doesn’t mean to make Aldi look bad, I just wanted to voice my opinion on Aldi’s products. Aldi has been a wonderful place for me to shop, and I am happy to share some of my good experiences in other Aldi posts.

Aldi has a large selection of toiletries and other paper products, which includes paper towels, paper plates/bowls and toilet paper.

But there is a high probability you can just find these types of goods even cheaper in a bulk store (like Costco or Sam’s Club) or even online, especially if you use a subscribe and save option.

Although Aldi cleaning products are good, the quality is not great. They can also be purchased cheaper at Dollar stores for roughly the same price.

You can also shop online or in bulk warehouses for better results.

Don’t buy feminine hygiene products or razors. You will find better options elsewhere. Aldi is a great place to buy quality goods, however, their products for personal care are not as extensive and lack in variety.

So many people are attached to their personal care products. Aldi’s limited range will make it difficult for you to choose what your favorite.

Aldi’s seafood is often more costly than those at other grocery stores, especially Walmart. Shoppers also find it less quality. Aldi has been subject to harsh criticisms for their unethical sourcing.

For example, in 2017 it came out that Aldi had sourced some of its seafood from China, where North Korean citizens might have been employed as deeply mistreated workers, with huge chunks of their pay going directly back to the North Korean state.

A frozen pizza at $2.19 is not a good deal.

Aldi’s lowest-priced pizza, the frozen thin, has poor flavor and is very expensive. Many people who tried it said that it was bland.

It doesn’t seem to be limited only to $2 pies. I’ve tried many Take & Bakes, both in the refrigerator and frozen. They were strangely bland, particularly when you see all the toppings.

Get a hot N Ready pizza from your Little Caesar’s and you’ll be satisfied.

Aldi might have a personal taste, but my opinion on his sourdough bread loaves isn’t too strong.

Each one comes pre-sliced. While I see the convenience of this for most shoppers, I think Aldi should offer a selection of sourdough bread unsliced. This would allow me to choose how thin or thick I prefer, or even hollow out pieces and create a bread bowl.

Aldi typically sells large quantities of their produce bagsged in or in container, which gives customers less control over what they bring home.

Aldi’s produce department will delight you if you like to pick each piece of vegetable or fruit by hand. The majority of the produce is not sold in individual packages.

Aldi generally sells high-quality meat at reasonable prices. But, the chicken they offer can be a bit disappointing.

The family packs of chicken breasts can be a great deal but they may need to be trimmed. Similar to the chicken breasts, even worse is what happens with the chicken thighs. You’ll tack on a good 15-20 minutes after unpacking the groceries, just to get all the stringy fat off the meat.

Don’t bother if you haven’t got the time, or don’t possess a sharp pair of kitchen scissors.

Aldi’s Pet Foods are so reasonably priced, it’s tempting to make a switch.

You’re best to stick with your existing brand. Heart to Tail is not the most healthy pet food for animals. It has corn filler and not actual meat as its first ingredient.

Numerous bloggers noted that the imitations of Cheez-it crackers – Goldfish and Cheez-it dupes, don’t measure up to brand-name counterparts.

Aldi’s Millvale bars were surprisingly bland the first time that I tried them.

It was pure hunger that drove me to eat the rest, though I’m sure I wouldn’t have given up on it.

Aldi is a great place to buy ground coffees.

Aldi carries a few name-brand items at any given time, but they aren’t always the lowest price, and they don’t accept manufacturers coupons. Most likely, you can find the exact item elsewhere for a much lower price.

While I personally own a poncho from Aldi’s fall line, that’s about as deep into the clothing there that I would get. You can expect less-than-tailored fittings and in some cases, lower quality.

Aldi offers many quality products and many highs, but the store also has its downs. The bottom line is that you have to make the best decisions for your family.
