Ming’s achievements are amazing as we watch the seasons change. However, one task takes Ming almost through the entire school year. Sullivan and Lofdahl give a great overview of a preschool year. They also remind parents (especially the parents) that sometimes learning something takes time.
The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn, illustrated by Ruth E. Harper and Nancy M. Leak A wonderful book for any child worried about leaving his mother and how she reassures him. This book, though it is about school, is a sweet reminder that you can still trust your mother in any situation. The Invisible String, a book I reviewed here that is a perfect alternative to The Kissing Hand (see the list of kindergartens below) is a wonderful choice.
Rosie Goes To Preschool by Karen Katz. Written in Katz’s brightly colored collage style, the book shows preschool through Rosie’s eyes. Katz gives us a lot of information about Rosie’s daily life at preschool. He also provides some tips for preschoolers, like how to get around obstacles at school or what to do if they lose their jobs. This book is a must-have for any preschooler.
