Costco has been a valuable hub for shopping, and members can select from several membership levels that are most suitable to their needs.
But what about the perks that come with their highest-level Executive Membership–do customers benefit from different hours to shop? This is what I learned about Executive Memberships.
Costco doesn’t offer exclusive shopping hours for its executive members. It was once a perk available to members at that level, however it appears to have been gradually discontinued by many Costco stores.
Costco: Executive members get in early at Costco
Gold Star members used to have access to the store at a half an hour sooner than Executive Members. It gave them the opportunity to shop in greater quantities and with fewer customers.
Costco members can enter the store from Monday through Saturday, regardless of their membership level.
Some warehouses open at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time. This is especially true if they are the day before major holidays.
However, the rules vary between places so it is possible to keep doors closed beyond posted times.
What does Costco’s Executive membership mean?
The Executive Membership is the highest tier of Costco’s membership options.
Members can upgrade to this tier for an extra $60 on top of their annual membership fee, bringing the cost to $120 for an Executive Membership.
Costco offers Executive Membership benefits.
Customers who upgrade to the Executive Membership get certain perks that other members don’t.
The extra shopping time may not be available any longer, but these members still get the following:
Special Discounts for Executive Members – Additional savings on services: Auto servicing, insurance and real estate programs, as well as roadside assistance.
Enjoy Exclusive Deals and Additional Discounts
This applies to most of your purchases with the exception of alcohol and tobacco. For this perk to be worth the $60 you pay, you need to spend at minimum $3,000 per calendar year. This amount is fairly typical for grocery and other household items.
You can read our posts to learn more about Costco, Walmart, ethics, membership auto-renews, senior discounts, etc.
Costco used be able to grant Executive Members access one hour earlier than any other member, however this no longer holds true.
Does Costco Have Business Member Hours?
Costco Business Centers can open earlier than Costco warehouses. You can find us Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday between 7 a.m.-4 p.m.
Does A Costco Executive Membership Expire?
